Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews Band is promoting a new album “Big Whiskey & the Groogrux King” by giving away free copies of the single “Funny The Way It Is.”

You’ll have to surrender your e-mail address (but if you have any brains, you’ve probably set aside a special e-mail for an occasion such as this). But it’s all good, right, can’t argue with $0.00.

You can get your free mp3 by clicking here.

Why I Love YouTube – Is This Adam Lambert in High School?

April 14, 2009 4 comments

This was posted by recruz00 and identified as “Mt. Carmel High School Airbands 2000.”

“… the lead character for the “War” section, is Adam Lambert from American Idol Season 8!”

Well, the lead does move / emote a lot like Adam Lambert – but what do I know – did he go to school at Mt. Carmel? Have no idea … but if this is Adam … pretty cool blast from the past right? Would be great if someone from the dance troupe confirms 🙂

ETA : Confirmed – it is Adam – there’s another (more inferior) copy of this dance posted elsewhere in YT and Adam himself left a comment there.

ETA 2: Adam’s comment added

“OMG!!!! Im so glad i found this! I mixed this shit on my computer mutha fuckers! And i lipped WAR. Those were the good old days you guys!
-A”

ETA 3: Adam’s friends’ replies

“Dude, don’t take all the credit. I helped mix the tunes!! I was the little girl, and you were the mom!!! Classic. Glad I found this video. We ROCKED IT!!!!!
-Liz”

“Good luck Adam. We all miss you guys. Most of us guys were still dancing out of high school on Urban FX, Formality, SuperGalacticBeatManipulators, Team Millennia, Mavyn, just to name a few. PQ represent!!!”

ETA : I just found a copy of Paulo Coelho’s “The Winner Stands Alone” on scribd. You can click here or on PAGE 2 where I’ve embedded it to read the novel.

Product Description (from Amazon)

The beloved, bestselling international author of The Alchemist returns with another haunting novel—a thrilling journey into our constant fascination with the worlds of fame, fortune, and celebrity.

A profound meditation on personal power and innocent dreams that are manipulated or undone by success, The Winner Stands Alone is set in the exciting worlds of fashion and cinema. Taking place over the course of twenty-four hours during the Cannes Film Festival, it is the story of Igor, a successful, driven Russian entrepreneur who will go to the darkest lengths to reclaim a lost love—his ex-wife, Ewa. Believing that his life with Ewa was divinely ordained, Igor once told her that he would destroy whole worlds to get her back. The conflict between an individual evil force and society emerges, and as the novel unfolds, morality is derailed.

Meet the players and poseurs behind the scenes at Cannes—the “Superclass” of producers, actors, designers, and supermodels, as well as the aspiring starlets, has-been stars, and jaded hangers-on. Adroitly interweaving the characters’ stories, Paulo Coelho uses his twelfth novel to paint an engrossing picture of a world overrun by glamour and excess, and shows us the possibly dire consequences of our obsession with fame.
