Preview Allison Iraheta’s Debut Single – Friday I’ll Be Over U (w/ MP3 DL link)

October 5, 2009 6 comments

It’s here- the premiere of Allison Iraheta’s debut single “Friday I’ll Be Over U”! Head on to Popeater.com for a short interview and to listen to the song (I’ve also embedded it here!)

ETA: Popeater is now playing the FULL version of the song (instead of that truncated one)! It’s also streaming over on Allison’s official site and on her official MySpace.

I’ve also embedded the FULL song here & with download links! And Allison is getting really good reviews – check them out HERE. And here’s a link to download the Full Res Album Art!

So how’d ‘Friday I’ll Be Over U’ come about?

I worked with Max Martin, and he pulled it out of his magic box. He came up with an awesome song and sent I to me and we cut it and it was just amazing. He definitely knows how to put himself in other people’s shoes.

What were you looking to convey with ‘Friday’?

Pretty much show who I really am as an artist, and what I really want to continue doing for the rest of my life, which is this. Just really do awesome music for the rest of my life.

What will your fans take away from the song?

It’s a song everyone can relate to. It’s a pretty simple song. It ain’t too hard to understand. I think people will really just be like ‘Yeah!’ … hopefully.

Okay, what do I think of it? Most importantly, Allison sounds awesome on it (even if it’s over-produced). She managed to make me like this generic pop-rock tune which seems like a Kelly Clarkson reject (to be perfectly honest). Or even a Miley Cyrus reject. BUT since the super Allison Iraheta is interpreting it, she’s embued it with her super magical & likeable powers. (I apologize, apparently, I’m incapable of objectivity here)

It’s hip, young (and perfectly age-appropriate), catchy and shouts ‘girl power’ to the max! I hope it’ll be a hit for little Miss Allison. With Max Martin’s name attached, I’m pretty sure that it’s an almost guaranteed thing.

P.S. I’ve ripped the FULL (3m15s) MP3 for those who want the song playing on their iPods while we wait for the official version on iTunes. (Download LINK, Mirror LINK)

Preview Leona Lewis’ New Song – Stone Hearts

October 5, 2009 2 comments

A new track “Stone Hearts”, presumably from Leona Lewis’ new album Echo, just got leaked. Have a listen… What do guys think?

I actually hope this does end up on the album – I really like this track! Much much much more than Happy (which I hated). Leona sounds absolutely beautiful and her voice just floats over the piano instrumentals. I think this will be the hit song in her album. This is the kind of song that should’ve been on Mariah Carey’s new cd.

Brooke White Sings “Let It Be” with Guests (Benton Paul, Michael Johns and surprise! David Archuleta)

October 5, 2009 Leave a comment

Just found this buried treasure on YouTube (from Brooke White’s concert at Murray Theater, Utah). She’s currently touring with Michael Johns to support her album “High Hopes & Heartbreak” (Just $7.99 on iTunes).

I just love how Brooke White sings with such pure joy. “Let It Be” is a perfect song for her – such magic 🙂 And she’s no longer shaking like a leaf like how I remember her from the end of her run on AI.

Pretty stoked that David Archuleta found the time to not just attend the concert but sing a song with her! Man, he has grown a lot as a performer, hasn’t he? I was comparing him to Michael Johns and Benton Paul (whoever he is, he’s cute, but I could barely hear him) and I thought David was heads & shoulders above them… Can’t beat vocal power like that.
