Preview Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ from the album ‘The Fame Monster’

October 21, 2009 2 comments

The first time I heard the version of ‘Bad Romance’ that leaked, my reaction was a bit unenthusiastic other than to say that it still sounds very much like a Gaga song. Gaga tweeted that her own ears bled when she heard the leaked version, so everyone pretty much agreed it kinda sucked.

Well, listening to the leaked final ‘The Fame Monster’ album version, I’m happy to say that Red One and Lady Gaga still know what they are doing. ‘Bad Romance’ is very recognizably a Gaga song (it sounds like the more kick-ass tom-boyish sis of Poker Face) and thankfully, they have another winner here that gets more addicting the more you listen to it / sing along with it — try the ‘Rah rah rah mama’ a few times – see? it’s freakishly fun!

Actually it’s kinda brilliant in a totally tongue-in-cheek shallow kind of way – and it is worthy of being the first single off her re-release. This one is gonna get played to death on radio, and get people to check out the re-release album.

Signature keywords for ‘Bad Romance’ : electro-pop-rock – you like this sound? Get the single. It will be released on Amazon and iTunes on October 27.

ETA : Now available!!!

World Premiere: Adam Lambert – Time For Miracles (2012) Music Video

October 21, 2009 1 comment

Vodpod videos no longer available.

(Video from MySpace)

** You can now view the ‘Time for Miracles’ Music Video in HD at Adam’s Official YouTube Channel and on the Sony 2012 Website. Check out http://music.myspace.com/ where Adam has a huge-ass banner out front saying ‘Exclusive Video Premiere of Time for Miracles **

ETA : Weird, MySpace pulled the video from Adam’s page. Maybe because they uploaded too early? The PR did say to expect the video at midnight…. Anyway, I put up the YouTube in the meantime… MySpace back to normal, wonder what the problem was? Anyway, if it gets pulled again, here’s a YT link.

It’s here and it is as EPIC as promised! Got me excited to see the movie too, which is the point, right? My favorite part is the after 3 minute mark, where all hell breaks loose, but Adam’s voice is there soaring like a phoenix, carrying us along for the ride…

Who else thinks Adam kinda looked like Tom Cruise while he was walking down the street being shoulder checked by despererate-people-running-for-their-lives? Just me? Ok.

And someone please tell me when iTunes plans to sell the music video? I need this in HD asap! In the meantime, I ripped the vid from Myspace and now have it on rotation on my iPod to tide me over… good times.

And the Adam Storm continues… If you haven’t bought the single yet, what are you waiting for? Click HERE for download links!

iTunes FREE Discovery Download – “Run” by Benton Paul

October 21, 2009 1 comment

Found this off Benton Paul’s blog – his single “Run” (from his EP Trois) is being offered as a FREE Discovery Download of the week by iTunes.

Product Info:

Our Discory Download puts the focus on a different genre each week, offering up a free track we think is worth your attention.

Effectively developing a three-minute pop song is a sorely underappreciated craft, so let the talented singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Benton Paul be your sensei. His “Run” begins simply enough, with his empathetic voice and a single strummed guitar. The song soon benefits from fuller orchestration and a heroic chorus. The bridge then elevates this micro-anthem even higher, climaxing with Paul’s now glorious-sounding voice enveloped in a choir of guitars.

It’s not half-bad, and bears some resemblance to the Fray song ‘You Found Me’. I’m a bit intrigued by this young artist, and I guess I’ll check out the other songs on his EP Trois (3 songs for $1.98! It’s a freakin’ bargain right).
