Preview New GLEE Tracks – “Don’t Rain On My Parade” and “My Life Would Suck Without You”

The last few songs from the ‘Glee: The Music, Volume 2‘ have leaked. I bet this one will also sell well, too, like Volume 1 since people seem to be totally into covers these days…

And one of the songs I’ve listened to and really liked is Barbara Streisand’s “Don’t Rain On My Parade” performed by Lea Michele. She really excels in Broadway tunes, doesn’t she, like her voice was made to sing songs like this. I bet if she went back to Broadway now, she can have a pick of roles.

Unfortunately, when Lea Michele attempts to sing Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You”, I think she fails miserably. Maybe it’s because I’ve listened to Kelly Clarkson until it’s been burned to my eardrum, but really, I think it’s a terrible cover. Not that I’m saying that Lea Michele should only sing show tunes (she killed Rihanna’s Take A Bow, for instance), but she can’t do Kelly Clarkson-rock evidently.

Listen to Kelly Clarkson!

I agree, love My Life Would Suck Without You but this is borderline Kidz Bop bad! Not to mention that has no rock-edge to her voice at all… sigh… expecting better when I heard she was doing this song she has such a great voice…

Thank you! I had heard that she may be signed. I hope whoever signs her listens to this and steers well away from this sound for her future album. She’s very talented but they may have to choose the right songs for her.

She doesn’t have the edge, but fails miserably it a bit much. You are usually going to have the presence of the one you first hear if you like the song.

No one can do everything but give the girl credit for trying. I don’t think it is bad it is a little cheesy but that would be the production more than her vocals.
