Currently Listening to … ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ by Rascal Flatts

December 11, 2009 Leave a comment

Jingle Bell Rock‘ is one of the really fun Christmas songs that I love no matter who is singing it.

This version is by the Rascal Flatts who do it justice with their rollicky and bouncy take on this classic. It’s totally impossible to feel any angst at all when this tune is blasting away.

It’s kinda like that semi-annoying friend who pops out of nowhere and makes it his/her life’s work to coax a smile out of your (or my) sour-puss face, and the arsenal includes corny knock-knock jokes, funny faces or a tickle fest as a last resort 😉 And much like the song, a smile is pretty much guaranteed in the end.

If you like it, ‘Jingle Bell Rock‘ is from the four-track EP ‘Unwrapped‘ by the Rascal Flatts. The EP is available on Amazon MP3 store as a $3.96 purchase. I’m not sure why it costs $6.35 on iTunes though. From the EP, my personal favorites are ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ (for the reason mentioned above) and ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ (which features beautiful harmonizing vocals by the band).

Track List:

1. Jingle Bell Rock
2. White Christmas
3. I’ll Be Home For Christmas
4. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

So, Allison was recently at the Kiss 108 Jingle Ball in Boston where she sang an AMAZING acoustic ‘Scars’ at the backstage lounge. I’m flailing since that’s my favorite track off her album ‘Just Like You‘. You can check out some photos at the Kiss 108 photogallery.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Update : Here’s just the audio (just right-click-save) of ‘Scars’ that the station provided as a podcast.

FREE MP3 Download – “On This Christmas Night” by Tonic Sol-fa

December 11, 2009 Leave a comment

Tonic Sol-fa (with Blue Bunny) is offering a FREE download of “On This Christmas Night” from their album On Top Of The World.

If you’ve never heard of them, Tonic Sol-fa is an acappella quartet, so if you are into that type of music, definitely check this out. ‘On Top Of The World’ is a Christmas album composed of both secular and Christian music. They’ve got a good vocal harmony thing going on for “On This Christmas Night” – but it’s not a particularly memorable song for me…

Adam Lambert @ The View

December 11, 2009 Leave a comment

Adam Lambert was on the View today (it aired today, but was pretaped a couple of days ago). And I have to say – what a great interview and performance! The ladies were not shrewish at all and gave Adam his chance to speak. I could not believe that I actually had warm and fuzzy feelings towards them. Wow, wonders will never cease.

Adam can charm the pants off anyone it seems (while looking sinfully gorgeous). And the performance! I love Whataya Want From Me live! And Adam’s name up in lights was a really good touch.

Video(s)! P.S. The View posts full-length episodes the day after airing here. The photos from the show are now up!

Other YouTube videos after the jump – not sure which one has best quality so I’m just posting them all in the meantime….
