Kris Allen In the Philippines!

February 3, 2010 Leave a comment

Update : Kris’ performance videos from his concert in Manila are HERE and the ones from Cebu are in this post! Check them out!

So, Kris Allen is in the Philippines for his two-day MusicFest 2010 concert (one in Cebu and another in Manila). He’s the headliner together with Boyce Avenue and Jabbawockeez.

In addition, he has his own media blitz to promote American Idol, his album ‘Kris Allen‘ and of course, the concerts. So, it’ll be a very busy couple of days for him.

I’m collecting all the Philippine media here (they were all previously at the Stalkerazzi post but became too unwieldy for there!) to be perused at your leisure. So be sure to bookmark this post for updates!

So, how many of you bought a Kindle this Christmas? Well, time to fill it up with freebies!

Here’s a pair of freebie Kindle E-book downloads from Amazon that you can download for a limited time! Both books are Historical Romances (and are from Bethany House which is geared toward the Christian market).

Product Description of The Apothecary’s Daughter:

Lillian Haswell, brilliant daughter of the local apothecary, yearns for more adventure and experience than life in her father’s shop and their small village provides. She also longs to know the truth behind her mother’s disappearance, which villagers whisper about but her father refuses to discuss.

Opportunity comes when a distant aunt offers to educate her as a lady in London. Exposed to fashionable society and romance–as well as clues about her mother–Lilly is torn when she is summoned back to her ailing father’s bedside. Women are forbidden to work as apothecaries, so to save the family legacy, Lilly will have to make it appear as if her father is still making all the diagnoses and decisions. But the suspicious eyes of a scholarly physician and a competing apothecary are upon her. As they vie for village prominence, three men also vie for Lilly’s heart.

Download Lady of Milkweed Manor here and save yourself $13.99!

Product Description of Lady of Milkweed Manor:

Charlotte Lamb, a fallen vicar’s daughter, hopes to secret herself away in London’s grim Milkweed Manor. But once there, she is mortified to find herself in the care of a former suitor, a physician whom her father long ago rejected as unsuitable, a man who now hides secrets of his own.

Both are determined, with God’s help, to protect those they love. But neither could guess the depth of sacrifice that will be required of them.

Adam Lambert with Yahoo’s ‘Reality Rocks’ Interview (Complete)

February 3, 2010 1 comment

This is a two-parter from Lyndsey Parker’s Reality Rocks Yahoo music blog (Part 1 is here and Part 2 is here), so I’ll add the next video when it’s posted tomorrow! Enjoy an interview with Adam relaxing on a front porch that is all just about the music!

ETA : All parts are up! Per his tweet, Adam is now officially on vacation!

(From Part 1) … Reality Rocks was so surprised and delighted to catch him during some of his all-too-rare downtime, on the Monday afternoon after his big blowout Grammys/birthday weekend, just chilling on a front porch outside a secret Hollywood location after one of his many photo shoots.

(From Part 2) … At one point Adam amusingly semi-apologized for his loquaciousness (it was quite all right, seriously), and said, “You’ll probably edit this down.” Um, nah. It was all good stuff, and low-key moments like this are all too rare with Adam nowadays. So why not put up the whole conversation, uncut and unguarded?

P.S. Check out this awesome UK article on Adam! Adam Lambert, the new face of glam rock by Malcolm Mackenzie (Times Online) Excerpt:

The man known across the internet as Glambert is a force to be reckoned with. His appearance on the cover of Rolling Stone gave it its best-selling issue of the year, while his debut album has sold more than half a million copies in America and entered the UK charts on imports alone.
“It is nice to get reinforcement from friends, strangers, other artists going, ‘What you’re doing is groundbreaking’,” he says. “But it’s hard to hear grand statements like that. I’m the same guy that’s been kicking around LA for eight years.”
Even so he’s keen to clear up any remaining misapprehensions about himself. “It’s not a character I’m hiding behind,” he says. “I’m vain and I like looking hot and pretty. But I’m not that confident. I used to be scared to take risks and I was scared of rejection.” These days, 500,000 records sold, and counting, might help with that.
