Listen to the Title Track from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Love Never Dies’

February 4, 2010 1 comment

Andrew Lloyd Webber debuted the title track from his Phantom-sequel ‘Love Never Dies‘ at the South Bank Show Awards in London last January. Sierra Boggess (Christine from the Vegas Phantom and Ariel from Little Mermaid) sang it live with just a piano accompaniment.

After listening to this song and the previously released ‘Till I Hear You Sing‘, I can only conclude that the songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel just aren’t as good as the original ‘Phantom of the Opera’. My excitement meter for the new play seems to be going to the negative side…

FREE MP3 Download – ‘Bury Me Alive’ (Acoustic) by We Are The Fallen

February 4, 2010 1 comment

So, anyone wondering what happened to Carly Smithson – the Irish lass with the failed recording career who was one of the finalists on American Idol Season 7? Well, the gal has nine lives, and even though she wasn’t able to jumpstart a solo singing career after Idol, she does have the next best thing – she found a home in the band ‘We Are The Fallen‘ (aka the NOT Evanescence but composed of ex-Evanescence members). The band was signed by Universal Republic, and they have just released their first single ‘Bury Me Alive‘ on iTunes and Amazon.

If you want to check out the sound before buying though, the band is offering a FREE download of the acoustic version of ‘Bury Me Alive‘ on their official website. You have to give up your e-mail address though and sign up for their mailing list 😉

Carly is totally channelling Amy Lee and if you liked the sound of Evanescence (especially the first albums), you will like ‘Bury Me Alive’. So check it out.

Valentine Wish List – Urban Decay’s Disney Alice In Wonderland Palette

February 4, 2010 1 comment

Okay, confession – I basically salivated over this at Sephora for X number of minutes – the teen-ager within me wants this so bad!

Urban Decay declared it a “seriously collectible Book of Shadows” and I agree. Even just the seriously awesome packaging has already reeled me in. The top of the box opens up to a mirror and a pop-up of Alice in the mushroom forest; and the eyeshadows are in a secret compartment – yes, it’s seriously cheesy, but is also seriously making the teen-ager in me go – ‘I want‘ ‘I want‘ – lol

I’m suddenly glad I don’t have all of Urban Decay’s palette of shadows, since this is just basically 16 of their best-selling shimmery / glittery (Note: Not Matte!) eye-shadows renamed to Alice In Wonderland terms – Drink Me Eat Me, Midnight Tea Party, Mad Hatter, etc. You catch my drift? The box includes bonus travel sizes of Eyeshadow Primer Potion and two 24/7 Eye Pencils in black and teal.

I’m kinda a sucker for packaging and an Alice In Wonderland stan, plus I don’t really have the complete book of shadows collection yet, so the price of $52 for this Alice In Wonderland Palette seems reasonable to me. May not be for everyone though 😉

P.S. I’m also partial to this $34 Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection for the smokey eye’d look. It also doesn’t hurt that it has a shimmer to it as well 🙂
