Adam Lambert Sings with Students at Belvedere Middle School (East LA)

February 19, 2010 4 comments

Adam Lambert visited Belvedere Middle School (East LA) today to deliver some music resources with DonorsChoose.Org. If you remember, Adam has been supporting this charity since the American Idol tour last summer. There’s been some tweets about the school visit by IdolTracker and DonorsChoose, and I expect an article to come out on the LA Times.

In the meantime, let’s enjoy Adam singing his new hit single ‘Whataya Want From Me’ accompanied by this student ‘orchestra’ 🙂 Hold on to your ovaries, ladies!

P.S. Hey, there’s Monte Pittman! (Adam’s and Madonna’s guitarist- I hope the kids knew they were jamming with a world-class singer AND guitarist!)

ETA : Hey, if you missed the DonorsChoose chat that Adam did, it’ll be up with video tomorrow on AdamOfficial. Meantime, you can listen to the audio on this YouTube channel (lambosessed). Here’s video from TALCvids!

Update : Here’s the article from LA Times Idol Tracker – Adam Lambert hand-delivers supplies to needy school by Shirley Halperin AND some HQ photos via JustJared!

Well, Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert opted to be completely hands-on, delivering much-needed supplies to the school’s Contemporary Rock music class himself. At the same time, it was entirely a group effort. After Adam teamed up with, his fans donated nearly $300,000 to the cause, allowing the school to purchase guitars, strings (1,000 to be exact – the school boasts 300 guitarists!) and batteries to power up the keyboards.
The kids, who were hand-picked by teacher Sarah Fuller based on skill and had no idea that Adam Lambert would be showing up at their class that day, not only got to meet Adam and ask him a few questions (one of which was: “How did you feel when you won ‘American Idol?’ ”), but after weeks of practice, they also got to accompany him on his first single “Whattaya Want From Me” (see video below) as well as perform two songs on their own, the Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” and an original number.
