Guilty Pleasure of the Day – Listening to ‘My First Kiss’ by 3OH!3 (feat. Ke$ha)

“My First Kiss” is the first official single from electronic duo 3OH!3’s upcoming third studio album Streets of Gold. The track features current pop-princess Ke$ha. Production by Matt Squire.

Yes, it’s a mindless song – with quite terrible lyrics that will make you question the state of education today & a hefty dose of sex (Lips like liquorice, Tongue like candy, Excuse me miss but can I get you out your panties?). And there isn’t much singing present either.

But confession time – I really like it. This is like that box of candy that is just empty calories, and you know it rots your teeth, but it’s so sweet and addicting, and you just keep on popping the little things until supply runs out or you’ve gained 10 pounds in one sitting). The song runs on pure pop energy and a hook that just won’t quit (My first kiss went a little like this, And twist, And twist; She won’t ever get enough, Once she gets a little touch, If I had it my way, You know that I’d make her say), and Ke$ha is the perfect addition as the tease in the song. I think I’ve mentioned before that I quite like her version of bratty talk-singing.

And oh hell – even the little kissy sounds makes me laugh, too. I’m pretty sure I’ll find this song annoying as hell later on when radio plays it 24/7, but right now, it’s my little guilty pleasure 🙂

My First Kiss‘ is currently available for download from iTunes or the Amazon MP3 store.

Listen to “My First Kiss” Vodpod videos no longer available.
