FREE MP3 Download – ‘Graveyard’ by Lucy Schwartz

Vodpod videos no longer available.

No idea who Lucy Schwartz is? (MySpace, Twitter) Well, she’s a 20-year-old singer/songwriter who sang a duet with Landon Pigg for ‘Darling I Do‘ which was featured on the Shrek Forever After soundtrack. She’s done more than that, but that’s how I know about her. (Watch the music video for ‘Darling I Do’ just to refresh your memory).

Anyway, she’s getting ready for the September release of her sophomore record, Life in Letters, and as a promo, she’s giving away a FREE copy of the lead single ‘Graveyard’. Just click on the widget above, and input your email address. You’ll get the download link in your inbox.

‘Graveyard’ is all slinky and jazzy, and I like how Lucy’s voice flows like smooth honey through the verses. My only problem maybe is that it’s a bit too polished & smooth. It actually sounds like a song that could’ve been on an Amy Winehouse album, except that it lacks the extra oomph (sexiness & danger) that Amy Winehouse brings to the table. But don’t take my word for it, check out the free track!

Life in Letters is not yet available for pre-order, but if you want to check out Lucy’s music, check out her Help Me! Help Me! – EP (Amazon, iTunes).

p.s. Hope this isn’t too short notice, but if you’re in New York, Lucy will be opening for Jamie Leonhart on August 6th at the Rockwood Music Hall.
