Kris Allen’s The Truth Feat. Pat Monahan (Official Video Premieres!)

Update: Now available for download from iTunes!

Vodpod videos no longer available.

(video from mjsbigblog)

Well, I guess Jive believes in slow and steady, because I cannot for the life of me understand why the music video for Kris Allen’s second single The Truth just came out now?! Yes, the first shoot got rained out, but still… hello? At least, Jive is pushing the video with a special premiere on VH1!

The music video is directed by cinematographer Aaron Platt, and I have to say that the video is shot beautifully, with the stark desert setting providing a suitably searing background for all of Kris’ angst. The theme of the video is that it’s an abstract dream; there’s lots of random imagery, like Kris on a bed in the middle of the desert, dragging a chest, there are mysterious tumbling letter T’s, shattering chandeliers, flying flaming fragments of a guitar… but I had expected it to be more impressionistic, more dreamlike, more disorienting somehow. Oh well.

And on the totally useless side, there was the oh-so random (but blessedly brief) appearances of Train’s Pat Monahan which did not make any sense at all.

The Truth (Music Video) will be premiering online tomorrow on Kris Allen Official – so we’ll hopefully get better video quality then! I’ll update the embedded video above to better quality if they show up 🙂

** If you liked what you heard and you haven’t bought a copy yet, download ‘The Truth’ feat Pat Monahan on iTunes ** or check out Kris’ album!

GoldBox Deal of the Day! Sale on Dexter (Seasons 1-3) on DVD and Blu-ray

So who else is uber excited for the 5th season of Dexter? Me! Me!

Anyway, this deal is for fans who have just recently discovered this amazing series about a psychotic serial killer who doubles as a dark avenger. Dexter: The Fourth Season (2009) has been released in DVD ($29.99) or Blu-ray ($39.99), so naturally, the rest of the seasons had to be released discounted too, right, for the straggler fans.

Well, the Dexter: Seasons One – Three DVD ($48.99) and Blu-ray ($69.99) is the Amazon GoldBox Deal of the Day! The discount is 60% OFF!

My personal faves are Seasons One and Four, although the quality of the writing, production and acting for all the seasons make this Emmy-nominated Showtime Original Series one of the best around. I loved Michael C. Hall when he was a depressed gay undertaker in Six Feet Under, and I love him as Dexter the serial killer 🙂

P.S. If you’re looking for other deals, how about the The Bourne Trilogy (The Bourne Identity / The Bourne Supremacy / The Bourne Ultimatum) Blu-ray ($34.99, 50% OFF) or DVD ($21.49, 40% OFF)? Or how about the Ocean’s Trilogy (Ocean’s Eleven/ Ocean’s Twelve/ Ocean’s Thirteen) Blu-ray ($31.99, 37% OFF)?

Unfortunately, it’s geographically restricted to those in the U.K. – hmmm…. I wonder if this might be a good time for me to check out some good VPNs and virtually move to the UK?
