The legendary band Queen (Brian May and Roger Taylor were presented with the Global Icon Award earlier) took the stage at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards and featured a surprise lead singer for their set – Adam Lambert! Guess Brian May really liked Adam singing ‘We Are the Champions’ with them during the finale of American Idol Season 8 🙂

The set list was ‘The Show Must Go On’, ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are The Champions’. I would have preferred ‘Somebody to Love’ instead, but hey, I can always dream that song will be performed again someday…

I’m a huge fan of Queen and of Adam, so this was a great surprise for me, an early Christmas gift! Of course no one can ever replace Freddie Mercury, but having suffered through other less vocally talented singers trying to sing Queen songs, I really enjoyed that Adam definitely has the vocal chops to carry it off!

The video I embedded here has the better audio, but if you want a video with a better pic quality, check out this other YouTube video. If you want your own downloaded copy though, be sure to visit this link to grab the HD video download!
