November 21, 2011 Leave a comment

Are you looking for a review for the just released $99 Kindle Touch? One of my fave sites to check for reviews is Mobile Tech Review and they’ve got theirs up now from @LisaG! Check out the written review here! (I’ve also embedded the video review)

* This is a great eInk touch reader for the price (less than $100!) If you’ve always hated the Kindle keyboards before, well, this is a great alternative of course! Honestly, at these prices, I can’t imagine why anyone who has that extra $100 won’t plunk the money down for a good eReader 🙂

NOOK Daily Find! The Crimson Petal and the White (Harvest Book) by Michel Faber for $3.49! (Price-matched for the Kindle!)

November 21, 2011 Leave a comment

Well… Barnes & Noble has a new promo — the NOOK Daily Find: Today’s Great Book at a Great Price! So, Nook owners need not be envious of those with Kindles! 😉

And the new deal is…

The Crimson Petal and the White (Harvest Book)‘ by Michel Faber (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt ) is now available at the specially discounted price of $3.49 on the B&N Nookbooks site. FYI, Amazon has price-matched!

Book Description

Called “the first great nineteenth-century novel of the twenty-first century,” Michel Faber’s The Crimson Petal and the White is a big, juicy must-read novel that authentically evokes Victorian London through the eyes of a young prostitute yearning for escape to a better life.

Meet Sugar, a nineteen-year-old prostitute in nineteenth-century London who yearns for escape to a better life. From the brothel of the terrifying Mrs. Castaway, she begins her ascent through society, meeting a host of lovable, maddening, unforgettable characters on the way. They begin with William Rackham, an egotistical perfume magnate whose empire is fueled by his lust for Sugar; his unhinged, child-like wife Agnes; his mysteriously hidden-away daughter, Sophie; and his pious brother Henry, foiled in his devotional calling by a persistently less-than-chaste love for the Widow Fox. All this is overseen by assorted preening socialites, drunken journalists, untrustworthy servants, vile guttersnipes, and whores of all stripes and persuasions.

Teeming with life, this is a big, juicy must-read of a novel that has enthralled hundreds of thousands of readers-and will continue to do so for years to come.
