December 20, 2011 Leave a comment

Whoa! Another really good freebie – Bejeweled By PopCap is $0.99 at the App store, but if you just drop by the App Store facebook page and ‘like’ them, you’ll get it FREE for a limited time!

It’s all new and all awesome!

If you love Bejeweled 2, this is the game you’ve been waiting for.

Based on the smash hit Bejeweled 3, the all-new Bejeweled is packed with three sparkling game modes: Classic, Zen and action-packed Diamond Mine. The world’s #1 puzzle game has been re-imagined for iOS, and it’s only the beginning — there are more surprises to come!

The new Bejeweled isn’t an automatic or required update for Bejeweled 2, so don’t worry — even though we’re retiring Bejeweled 2 from the App Store, you can keep playing it for as long as you like. But once you play the new game, you’ll never look back.

And if you play Blitz mode, check out the all-new Bejeweled Blitz, too! The new standalone Bejeweled Blitz offers seamless Facebook gameplay experience, gorgeous retina display graphics, and The Daily Spin bonus for free coins every day! Best of all, it’s FREE!

Enjoy the free app!

Meme: Top Ten Tuesday – Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings

December 20, 2011 4 comments

The meme Top Ten Tuesday topic of the week (via the Broke and Bookish blog) is:

Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings

  1. In Memory of Todd Woods by Tom Taylor: I read the sample of this coming-of-age self-published book and got hooked immediately! Added it to the blog’s Kindle wishlist immediately.
  2. The Mystery of the Missing Everything by Ben H. Winters: I’m a big fan of The Secret Life of Ms. Finkleman (the first book) where seventh-grader Bethesda Fielding finds out her teacher may be a rock star, so am really looking forward to the second book!
  3. Almost Like Being in Love by Steve Kluger: The reviews about this gay romantic comedy about ‘the one that got away‘ are so good, I want to read it too!
  4. Brother/Sister by Sean Olin: Given the good reviews despite the difficult subjects it covers, hopefully, this one lands on my Kindle!
  5. Handpicked by Siew Siang Tay: This award-winning novel about a mail-order bride sounds just right for me (except for the price!)
  6. Before I Go To Sleep: A Novel by S. J. Watson: I’ve wanted to read this thriller about a girl who loses her memories every night ever since it got spotlighted as Amazon’s Best Book of the Month for June 2011.
  7. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky: Almost everyone it seems has read this coming-of-age novel… I feel so left out!
  8. The King’s Speech: How One Man Saved the British Monarchy by Mark Logue and Peter Conradi: I’ve seen the movie and loved it, now need to compare it to the book!
  9. Micro: A Novel by Michael Crichton and Richard Preston: I’m vaccilating between wanting to read this or not, since Crichton didn’t really write this, right, (even if it’s based on his notes)… but if it’s a gift, how can I say no?
  10. Girl in the Arena by Lise Haines: Sounds like it’s inspired by the success of the Hunger Games, but I do find the idea of girl gladiators oddly appealing 🙂
