5 Questions

Today I’m thrilled to welcome indie author Dalya Moon to the blog as part of the new ‘5 Questions’ with authors series!

If you are an author who would like to participate in the series, fill out the questionnaire here! And if you are a reader who wants to suggest an author for the series, just send me an email!

Swarm, A Paranormal Murder Mystery (The Paranormal Poke Chronicles)

Describe your new book ‘Swarm, A Paranormal Murder Mystery (The Paranormal Poke Chronicles)‘ in ten words or less

In Swarm, bees fly out of Zan’s mouth. What!?

Where or how did you come up with the idea for your story?

Swarm is a sequel to Poke, and Poke is about a boy who has a magic belly button. The idea must have come from my own disappointingly non-magical belly button.

What was your favorite part to write and why?

I’m loving action scenes! I learned the proper names for some punches and I block out the fight–like a big nerd. I briefly entertained the idea of taking a boxing class, but I’m fearful of being hit in the face. Too many flashbacks to dodge ball at school.

Do you have a day job? If yes, tell us about it and how did that affect your writing / publishing process?

I’m self-employed, so I’m used to spending long hours at my computer. I’ve gotten better at time management and project estimating over the years, which definitely helps me plan out my books.

Tell us about an upcoming book or project you’re excited about

I’m currently working on a completely new book. It’s set in Vancouver, like my other book, Practice Cake, and will have similar-aged characters, but it’s not a sequel. Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m making myself nervous. I guess nerves are similar to excitement.

Thanks again for stopping by, Dalya! You can learn more about Dalya at her website. To get your copy of Swarm, click here! All four of Dalya Moon’s books are currently available in digital form, from Amazon.
