Emotionally Charged is about people who get superpowers from emotions.

I dreamed it! I had been ranting to a friend the day before about a trope in young adult books I see too often, the young girl falling in with the group of super-hot paranormals and super-hot guy. That night my half asleep mind worked overtime, plotting the whole concept out for me. I got up many times during the night to take notes, and my morning, I had my story.

From a different novel, Memory, from Memory’s Wake is my favourite. She’s had a tough life and it’s fun to write a balance between her strength and fragility. She’s also fun to illustrate, with her funky hair style.

I’m self employed as a visual artist as my day job, so I can shift my time around pretty easily when I want writing time. It also means I can design my own covers and illustrate my books.

I’m working on the following two books in my Memory’s Wake trilogy, a dark young adult fantasy set in a Victorian era style fairyland. They will also be illustrated, as the first book, Memory’s Wake, is.
