Describe your book ‘Double Bind‘ in ten words or less

Over there. Someone like you. Not just like you. Someone who is you.

Where or how did you come up with the idea for your story?

I wanted to write a thriller that would be enjoyable in its own terms but leave behind something.

I’ve always been interested in doppelganger fiction (it’s been around for 150 years at least, but mainly as mystical / horror) and this seemed like the ideal vehicle to develop into a thriller. I don’t think that’s been attempted as often.

Which of your characters is closest to your heart and why?

The main character is Raymond Bridges. But I’m closer to one of the minor characters, Martin Peterson – a likeable geek.

Do you have a day job? If yes, tell us about it and how did that affect your writing / publishing process?

I’m working full time as a writer.

Tell us about an upcoming book or project you’re excited about

When I started writing DOUBLE BIND, I was just beginning work on the follow up to my first book TAKE NO MORE. DOUBLE BIND more or less elbowed its way in and had to be completed first. But I’ve now resumed work on TAKE NO MORE 2. It picks up on James Blake three years after the events in London and Florence that nearly destroyed his family and his life. He’s forced to break cover to solve a thirty year old mystery surrounding the theft of famous modern art……..
