The Story Trap (The Sisters 1) by Masha du Toit

Describe your book The Story Trap (The Sisters 1) in ten words or less

Girl falls into coma but it’s really a witch’s spell.

Where or how did you come up with the idea for your story?

I was walking my dogs on the mountain, and it came to me between one step and another. Out of the blue!

Which of your characters (in this book) is closest to your heart and why?

Gardag. She’s a fairly minor character, but still my favourite.

She’s a cyber dog who has been abandoned by her owner. Very fierce but likes a good scratch if you can slip a hand in between the armour plates.

Do you have a day job? If yes, tell us about it & how it affected your writing?

I’m a teacher. I teach people how to use computers to do creative things like make animations and do web-design.

I get to meet all kinds of people, young and old, which is great for character research 🙂

Tell us about an upcoming book or project you’re excited about

The sequel to The Story TrapThe Broken Path (The Sisters 2) – is also out!

Bonus Question! Fill in the blank: If you like ___, you’ll probably like my book too!

If you like: Charles de Lint, you’ll probably like my book too!
