Thought I’d share two eBooks (a children’s book and a cookbook) I found for the iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad. Note that these eBooks don’t need Apple’s iBooks application to work. They are downloaded like apps but when you load them, they are books that you can read!

The book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (audiobook and ebook) is free for download from the iTunes app store and the App Shopper. This ebook features the original illustrations by W.W. Denslow from L. Frank Baum’s famous children’s novel. It’s also an Audiobook so you can choose to just listen if you want. GET IT NOW before the offer expires.

Book Description:

Read and listen to one of the most famous stories of all time. The application is both an audio book and an ebook. The ebook includes all of the original text and illustrations and allows you to browse all the chapters from an index.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a famous 1900 children’s novel written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by his friend and collaborator W.W. Denslow.

The design of the book was lavish for its time, with illustrations on every page, page backgrounds in different colors, and several color plate illustrations.

Wow, perfect timing by Amazon Kindle to release this for FREE right? And doubly useful for users of slow cookers who are itching to show off their expertise. The recipes are fairly straight-forward and have choices for everyone whether you’re throwing a party or just making a home-cooked meal.
