Who else is considering pre-ordering The Sims 4 Premium Edition by EA Games? (I’ve read that for the first time, Sims can multi-task, among other improvements) It won’t be coming out til December 31, 2014 though, so in the meantime, here’s two videos to get more familiar with Sims 4!

popout: Trailer for Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief

The official trailer for the film adaptation of Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief looks good! It’s directed by Brian Percival, and stars Emily Watson, Geoffrey Rush, Sophie Nélisse, Ben Schnetzer, Nico Liersch, and Joachim Paul Assböck.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Here’s a description of The Book Thief (published by Knopf Books for Young Readers):

The extraordinary #1 New York Times bestseller that will be in movie theaters on November 15, 2013, Markus Zusak’s unforgettable story is about the ability of books to feed the soul.

It is 1939. Nazi Germany. The country is holding its breath. Death has never been busier, and will become busier still.

Liesel Meminger is a foster girl living outside of Munich, who scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist – books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement.

In superbly crafted writing that burns with intensity, award-winning author Markus Zusak, author of I Am the Messenger, has given us one of the most enduring stories of our time.

Here’s a description of Catching Fire (The Second Book of the Hunger Games) (published by Scholastic Press):

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

The official trailer for the film adaptation of Mohsin Hamid’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist looks good! It’s directed by Mira Nair, and stars Riz Ahmed, Kate Hudson (totally unrecognizable by the way), Liev Schrieber and Kiefer Sutherland.

The Reluctant Fundamentalist

Here’s a description of The Reluctant Fundamentalist (published by Harcourt):

At a cafe table in Lahore, a bearded Pakistani man converses with a suspicious, and possibly armed, American stranger. As dusk deepens to night, he begins the tale that has brought them to this fateful meeting.

Changez is living an immigrant’s dream of America. At the top of his class at Princeton, he is snapped up by Underwood Samson, an elite firm that specializes in the valuation of companies ripe for acquisition. He thrives on the energy of New York. But in the wake of September 11, he finds his position in his adopted city suddenly overturned. And Changez’s own identity is in seismic shift as well, unearthing allegiances more fundamental than money, power, and perhaps even love.

Popout: Official Trailer for ‘Alex Cross

Check out the official trailer for the big screen adaptation of James Patterson’s ‘Cross (Alex Cross)‘! This movie stars Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox and I’m gonna take a minute trying to absorb this …

Cross by James Patterson

Here’s a description of the book:

Alex Cross was a rising star in the Washington, DC, Police Department when an unknown shooter gunned down his wife, Maria, in front of him. The killer was never found, and the case turned cold, filed among the unsolved drive-bys in D.C.’s rough neighborhoods.

Years later, still haunted by his wife’s death, Cross is making a bold move in his life. Now a free agent from the police and the FBI, he’s set up practice as a psychologist once again. His life with Nana Mama, Damon, Jannie, and little Alex is finally getting in order. He even has a chance at a new love.

Then Cross’s former partner, John Sampson, calls in a favor. He is tracking a serial rapist in Georgetown, one whose brutal modus operandi recalls a case Sampson and Cross worked together years earlier. When the case reveals a connection to Maria’s death, Cross latches on for the most urgent and terrifying ride of his life.

From the man USA TODAY has called the “master of the genre,” CROSS is the high-velocity thriller James Patterson and Alex Cross’s fans have waited years to read – and the pinnacle of the bestselling detective series of the past two decades.

FYI, Along Came a Spider (Alex Cross) by James Patterson is still discounted to $3.99!

Popout: ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ (Official Trailer)

Update: Are you being scorned by MTV? You can also watch the trailer HERE!

Check out the official trailer for the big screen adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower‘! It’s looking good! I’m watching just for the cast! 🙂

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Here’s a description of the book (but you can check out the full plot on Wiki):

Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

This haunting novel about the dilemma of passivity vs. passion marks the stunning debut of a provocative voice in contemporary fiction: The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

This is the story of what it’s like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie’s letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.

Through Charlie, Stephen Chbosky has created a deeply affecting coming-of-age story, a powerful novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower‘ starring Emma Watson (Sam), Logan Lerman (Charlie), Ezra Miller (Patrick) plus a great supporting cast in Paul Rudd and Kate Walsh arrives in theaters in September!

Yay, Eric Northman is coming back to our teevees! And to whet your appetites, here he is showing that he’s more than just a Viking god – damn, he can come and clean my apartment anytime 😉 thorough and fast, that’s my man!

There’s two more sneak peeks out – Sookie with Alcide, and Terry, Arlene with family if you want to be spoiled some more. Cross my fingers this season will be better than last season!

True Blood’ returns to HBO on June 10. For those wondering about all the fuss, you can stream the previous seasons on Amazon or iTunes. My vote for best season goes to S3 (really happy to have Steve Newlin and Russell Edgington back on board!)

(Video) Official Trailer for Les Miserables! (Starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway)

Popout: Official Trailer for Les Miserables

It’s here – the official trailer for Les Miserables (starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway)! The trailer has Anne Hathaway (as Fantine) singing ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ – have to say that while I was surprised at the slower arrangement (and it’s not sung operatically), Anne does emote the hell out of it. Heartbreaking!

Now I hope that they’ll have spots featuring Hugh and Russell!

P.S. Les Miserables: The 10th Anniversary Dream Cast in Concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall DVD is down to $24.63! 🙂
