Adam Lambert’s GlamNation Tour Stop #1 – F.M. Kirby Center (Wilkes-Barre PA)

June 5, 2010 1 comment

Hey, hey, hey – it’s the first stop for Adam Lambert’s GlamNation Tour! And it’s in the middle of nowhere, as Adam irons out the kinks. Welcome to F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, Wilkes-Barre PA.

Opening acts were Allison Iraheta and Orianthi! Allison’s set list : Holiday, Still Breathing, Scars, DWTP (featuring Orianthi on guitar), Heartbreaker (Cover – why? in a 20 minute set does she add a cover?) and FIBOU. Orianthi’s set list : According To You, Feels Like Home, Think Like A Man, Courage (new track), Shut Up And Kiss Me and Highly Strung.

And then Adam! Featuring costume changes, laser light show, video screen, his own staircase and of course the adoring fans… Adam’s set list : Voodoo, Down The Rabbit Hole, Ring Of Fire (Yes! He’ll be playing this at the Ryman!), Fever, Sleepwalker, Acoustic set : WWFM, Soaked and Aftermath (Adam has said that the acoustic set may change from day to day & week to week), Sure Fire Winners, Strut, Music Again, Broken Open, If I Had You and Mad World (Encore). Now this is a well-balanced set-list showcasing his CD with minimal covers!

RCA did not allow media in, but a sneaky reviewer (BRAD PATTON) from Timesleader paid $124.22 to watch, and gave a very complimentary review of Allison/Orianthi and the 1st 20 minutes of Adam’s show – read all about it!

Judging by the first 20 minutes, which is all I got to see before leaving to write this report, the record label had nothing to worry about as the singer owned the stage from the very first moments, giving the packed theater exactly what it wanted.

Thanks to the lovely fans who got video! (mwilson3235, suz526, bird1999rw, indybeck71, alliholics, TALCvids, Jesha84 – really good vids!, tuke18, schufly1, dnewton98 – really good audio!, trillian55 – really good vids!) Be sure to bookmark this post as I’ll update it with media periodically! * If Allison & Orianthi vids show up, I’ll also add them!

September 10, 2009 Leave a comment

It’s DAY FORTY-SEVEN of the American Idols Season 8 Live! Tour at the Wachovia Arena (Wilkes Barre, PA). I’m gathering all the articles/reviews/videos/interviews here. All tweets are left behind in this post. For a round-up of Tour/Album news for Adam and Kris, click here.

Fair warning : I only care about Adam/Kris/Allison…

Check back – once they are up, All PERFORMANCE VIDEOS (Adam/Kris/Allison) will be on PAGE 2. The Rest of the Top 10 will be on PAGE 3. Also, there were some late-breaking articles from Reading, so click here to check if you missed any.

CONCERT CAPSULE: American Idol at Wachovia Arena by Brad Patton

Judging by the crowd’s reaction, the most popular seems to be runner-up Adam Lambert (they screamed every time his picture came up in the promos before the show), followed closely by champion Kris Allen and third-place finisher Danny Gokey.
Allison Iraheta kicked off the second half with a good dose of rock-star attitude on Pink’s “So What” and Heart’s “Barracuda.” … Audience-favorite Lambert stirred it up with his version of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” and a great David Bowie medley. Allen then finished up great renditions of “Heatless” and “Ain’t No Sunshine,” followed by an acoustic-guitar-driven sing-along “Hey Jude.”

Allison Iraheta enjoys life on the road with ‘American Idol’ tour by Mark Bialczak

You’re signed to (the recording company) 19 Records. Have you started working on the debut album yet? “Yeah. Days off, which are not really days off, I get to record.”
Will you be writing your own songs? “Yeah, before we went on tour, I was co-writing with great people. I’ve done that before the whole ‘Idol’ experience. Just working with people like David Hodges and Kevin Rudolf, it was an amazing experience.”
Do you have a favorite song on the album? “No, not yet. There are a couple that I’m excited about.”
What’s it going to sound like? “It’ll be fun. It will definitely have a rock vibe to it. Hopefully, it’s good.”
How do you say goodbye to the other members of the “American Idol” final 10 after being together so long? “I don’t even want to think about it. It will be sad. There’s a couple that I’ll keep in touch with. It won’t be for sure goodbye. We all get along super well. For sure, for sure, Lil and Megan (Joy), we’ll always keep in touch. (Second-place finisher) Adam (Lambert), (winner) Kris (Allen), Anoop (Desai), Matt (Giraud). We’ll all keep in touch.”

The Farr Side: ‘Idol’ stars shine on stage at Van Andel By David T. Farr – yeah, I couldn’t believe it myself, somehow he missed reviewing Adam and Kris!

After a short intermission it was Allison Irehat’s turn to rock the house. Irehat performed Pink’s “So What,” as well as Heart’s “Barracuda,” but it was her Janis Joplin-y “Cry Baby” that did it for me.

American Idol’s Top 10 rock Allstate Arena By JENNIFER MAURER – wow, an unbelievably late review all the way back from Chicago!

Allison Iraheta emerged against a flaming backdrop that coordinated with her fire-red hair, and dove right into Pink’s “Rock Star.” She then morphed into the voice and soul of Janice Joplin for “Cry Baby.” Iraheta, affectionately nicknamed “fire pants” by her co-Idols, reminded us why she finished in the Top 4.
Second place finisher Adam Lambert was in the house, and the mere mention of his name, or the flashing image of his face on the teletron, sent the audience into a glitter-induced frenzy. Seizing the moment, Lambert began his 30 minute set with Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” and finished with a Bowie medley. His flawless vocals and seductive delivery left no doubt that he understands the full magnitude of his talent and appeal. In this entertaining army of Idols, Lambert has established himself as the Commander In Chief. While other performers become stars, Lambert has the potential to achieve Super Nova status. Once he becomes liberated from “American Idol,” he’s projected to appear on another Top 10 list very quickly. Note to Billboard — make some room. Lambert’s album debuts on November 24, one week after the release of Kris Allen’s record.
The last solo performance of the evening belonged to Allen, who took center stage for “Heartless” by Kanye West/The Fray. Donning a flannel shirt, jeans, and an acoustic guitar, he served up first-rate performances of “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Bright Lights” and “Hey Jude.” The difference in the intensity level and stylistic contrast to Lambert’s performance, however, did not go unnoticed.

Adam Lambert New Song “Time For Miracles”

The title of the new Adam Lambert song from the 2012 soundtrack has been uncovered on a new version of the 2012 movie poster. The track will be called “Time For Miracles” and should mark the official post-American Idol recording debut of Adam Lambert.
The Rolland Emmerich disaster flick is scheduled to be released on November 13. Traditionally, the movie industry releases the main song prior to the release of the film to help add excitement and momentum to a movie’s release. 2012 should be no different, so fans should be able to expect Time For Miracles to be released sometime in mid-to-late October, although no official information is available at this point.

‘American Idol’ star launches contest to aid students

Adam Lambert, the Season 8 runner-up to Kris Allen, had a happy problem. His loyal fans were showering him with so many gifts at each stop of the Idols live tour that there just wasn’t room to put them all on the bus.
His solution was to partner with to provide a way his fans could redirect their support for him and at the same time help children. is an online education nonprofit charity where public school teachers describe specific educational projects for their students, and donors, visiting the Web site can select the specific projects they want to support. Lambert requested all the projects should focus on music and the fine arts. and 19Entertainment, the company that produces “American Idol,” selected the participating groups.

It’s official: Ellen DeGeneres is the new Paula by Brian Mansfield – Oh my, I did NOT expect this!

Emmy Award-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has joined AMERICAN IDOL as a fourth judge. DeGeneres will sit alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi and offer her own unique perspective to the contestants throughout the competition.
“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on AMERICAN IDOL,” said DeGeneres. “I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”
