‘5 Questions’ with Claudia Lefeve

Describe your book ‘Parallel (Travelers Series)‘ in ten words or less

PARALLEL is about fringe science, destiny, alternate realities, and yes, love.

Where or how did you come up with the idea for your story?

As a young adult, I rarely read YA. Now that I’m an adult, I can’t enough YA reads. I’ve always had a fascination with alternate realities and time travel, so that’s where my story took me. It’s been a fascinating journey!

What was your favorite part to write and why?

The scene where my main character works on her power of telekinesis. It was one of the few chapters that gave me goosebumps after I wrote it and when one of my beta readers commented on the scene, I knew I had captured the moment.

Do you have a day job? If yes, tell us about it and how did that affect your writing / publishing process?

I recently went from working a 9 to 5 job (with lots of overtime and on-call nights) to teaching criminology at a community college. It’s made all the difference to me as a writer. Now, I only teach three days a week and I have summers off, which allows me the time to basically write full-time.

Tell us about an upcoming book or project you’re excited about

I always have a project or two up my sleeve! One is a paranormal romance, complete with an ancient mummy, and the other is a non-fiction book that I’m keeping a lid on for the moment.
