‘5 Questions’ with Barbara Silkstone!

5 Questions

Today I’m thrilled to welcome indie author Barbara Silkstone to the blog as part of the ‘5 Questions’ with authors series!

If you are an author who would like to participate in the series, fill out the questionnaire here! And if you are a reader who wants to suggest an author for the series, just send me an email!

London Broil (Fractured Fairy Tales)

Describe your book ‘London Broil (Fractured Fairy Tales)‘ in ten words or less

Wendy (Darling) hunts an Egyptian artifact during London’s killer heat wave.

Where or how did you come up with the idea for your story?

I love London. It’s a perfect setting. When we last saw Wendy Darling and Roger Jolley in WENDY AND THE LOST BOYS, they’d recovered twelve of the thirteen Egyptian icons stolen from the British Museum. Wendy, a Miami Realtor and part-time Tomb Raider, is now in a frantic race against time and a murderer as she searches for the icon hidden somewhere in London.

What was your favorite part to write and why?

My favorite part to write was when Wendy is held captive above a fish ‘n’ chips shop by a couple of bumbling thugs. Her escape had me in hysterics.

Do you have a day job? If yes, tell us about it and how did that affect your writing / publishing process?

I manage a small Episcopal chapel. I work from nine to noon. Just enough time away from my home desk to work out a few of the neck cramps.

Tell us about an upcoming book or project you’re excited about

I’m in the process of fracturing yet another fairytale. This time it’s Snow White. ZO WHITE will be released in August. With all the Snow White action out there this year, I think I’ve put a unique spin on her tale.

Bonus Question! Fill in the blank: If you like ___, you’ll probably like my book too!

Gemma Halliday
Sibel Hodge
Donna Fasano
Janet Evanovich (early Stephanie Plum)
Leonard Elmore
Carl Hiaasen
