Pimping (Again) the FREE iPhone/ iTouch/ iPad Application – Dropbox

June 17, 2010 Leave a comment

I guess that I just love this little super user-friendly application that I can’t stop talking about it 🙂 In case you missed my previous post about it, it’s a handy little freebie that allows you to store or backup 2 GB of your files online (after that, you can buy more storage space or you can get more free space up to 8 GB simply by referring your friends to Dropbox). All you do is just drag and drop the files from your computer to Dropbox, and syncing is automatic; you can then access your Dropbox account from other computers, including your iPhone/iPod Touch or iPad. I love it!

The Dropbox application for the iPhone/iTouch/iPad automatically recognizes the following file formats:

  • Images (jpg, tiff, gif)
  • Music (mp3, aiff, m4a, wav)
  • Movies (mov, mp4, m4v)
  • Microsoft Word documents (doc, docx)
  • Microsoft Powerpoint presentations (ppt, pptx)
  • Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (xls, xlsx)
  • Adobe PDF (pdf)
  • Keynote presentations (key)
  • Pages documents (pages)
  • Numbers spreadsheets (numbers)
  • Web pages (htm, html)
  • Text and rich-text files (txt, rtf)

I mainly use Dropbox to store Microsoft document files so I can quickly review them on my iPod when I’m on the go. You can’t edit them on the iPod (and why would you want to torture yourself that way anyway?), but it’s handy to review if you’re killing time in traffic or waiting for the bus or something.

And since Dropbox has a “Public Folder” feature, it’s a handy way for me to edit Word/Powerpoint files at home or the library, and have my colleagues be able to access the same files on their computers. I know that you can do that by toting a memory card or thumb drive with me (I always seem to lose the tiny things though) or email stuff to each other, but as long as you have internet access, Dropbox makes that unnecessary.

So, if you haven’t yet, sign up for the FREE service HERE (if you’re cheap like me, you can get more FREE storage by “recruiting” your friends to sign up too); then install the program on your computer, and get the application for iPhone/iTouch or iPad and voila – happy syncing!

Adam Lambert on MTV UK’s Live Sessions

June 17, 2010 Leave a comment

Vodpod videos no longer available.

more about “Adam Lambert on MTV UK’s Live Sessions“, posted with vodpod

I think I may be the last Adam Lambert fan to learn of these goodies from the UK! Oh well, I’m enjoying the wealth of new Adam media just the same 🙂

Adam filmed his MTV UK Live Sessions way back when, but it’s only now that they have been released. Sony UK has a plan, I hope! I really, really want Adam to be BIG DEAL in Europe – so here’s hoping that WWFM does well for Adam in the UK (since FYE single kinda just disappeared). I want WWFM to be just as big a deal in the UK as in Germany!

P.S. I’ve tacked on Adam’s uncut interview with Justin Lee Collins in the embedded video! Here are DL links for all the videos! (FLV for MTV UK Live Sessions, MP4 for MTV UK Live Sessions, FLV uncut Justin Lee Collins interview)

** If you haven’t yet, and want a CD with ALL of the bonus songs from Adam Lambert, grab the For Your Entertainment (EU Edition) (Incl. Bonus Tracks) [Import] (Amazon) OR the For Your Entertainment (UK CD) **
